About MyDogCanFly — who's behind the data

MyDogCanFly is a data-driven, multilingual platform that helps people fly safely and legally with their dog. We do not sell tickets or give veterinary opinions — we gather and structure the official rules, and we distinguish what is verified from what is still to be confirmed, so you can see what your decision rests on.

How we source data, and what we do not yet claim

We build from primary, official sources — airline pet-travel pages, national veterinary authorities, USDA APHIS export pages, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and EU regulations. But we distinguish two states, and we show which one applies. A small number of records are strictly verified: an official page was read, a sentence was quoted, and that quotation is published with its link and date. Everything else is on record without being confirmed, and the site marks it as still to be confirmed with the airline or authority rather than presenting it as established.

This is deliberate, and it is work in progress: the records still to be confirmed are being reviewed one by one. Where we do not know, the site says so — it does not guess, and it does not turn an absence of proof into a refusal.

Our tools (flight finder, heat-risk, crate size, travel timeline, airport relief) derive their verdicts from this data with a transparent rules engine — the reasoning is always shown, never a black box.

MyDogCanFly is founded and edited by Phil Albert-Benoist, who is also its director of publication. His background bridges digital engineering (EFREI Paris) and visual culture (ENSP Arles): the technical foundations of a rigorous, structured, standards-compliant web platform, paired with a demanding editorial eye. Day-to-day this means platform architecture, Schema.org structured data, SEO and GEO (optimisation for search and for generative engines), multilingual editorial governance and privacy compliance.

The editorial line, sourcing standards, verification methodology and accuracy of published information are under his direct supervision.

Airline, country and breed rankings are computed from the data — they are never sold or influenced by payment. Where the site earns from affiliate links (for example travel-crate or partner recommendations), those links are clearly disclosed and do not change the underlying verdicts.
