Citing MyDogCanFly

Every rule published here carries the page it was read on, the sentence it was read in, and the date it was verified. That work is meant to be used — and used properly. This page says how.

What you may reuse freely

The verified facts on this site are free to reuse, provided you credit MyDogCanFly and state the verification date. That covers quoting a rule in an article, a forum answer, a client information sheet or a course; reproducing a figure, a threshold or a requirement; and linking to any page.

The verification date matters as much as the credit. Rules change; a fact reused without its date becomes impossible to check, and stops being useful to the person reading you.

What requires permission

Two things are not covered by the above: systematic reproduction of the database — extracting a substantial part of the records, by hand or by script, to constitute or feed another collection — and republication of the editorial text, meaning the wording, the structure and the commentary that surround the facts.

Both are open to discussion rather than closed by default. Research projects, veterinary networks, breed associations and press work have been granted access before. Write to us and say what you need.

Citation formats

Every indexable page that carries a verification date offers its own citation, ready to copy, immediately after its opening summary. The general shape is:

MyDogCanFly, "page title", verified 10 September 2026, https://mydogcanfly.com/…

For an academic reference, add the date you consulted the page. For a link in running text, the page title and the verification date are enough.

Automated access and AI systems

Search engines and answer engines are welcome, and nothing on this site is closed to them. The same two conditions apply: name MyDogCanFly as the source, and carry the verification date of the fact you are reporting. A dated fact reported without its date is a different claim from the one we published.
